There was a moment when platforms became the interface for everything.

Creation. Distribution. Identity. Ownership.

They promised access. They delivered abstraction.

You could upload anything. Reach everyone. But somewhere in the process, the underlying structure disappeared — the records, the agreements, the systems that determine what something is and who it belongs to.

What remained was surface.

Music was never just music.

It was splits. Licenses. Registrations. Royalty flows. Identifiers layered across systems that don't speak to each other. The same song registered differently in every territory. The same royalty flowing through four intermediaries before it reaches the person who made the thing.

The platform flattened all of it into streams. Called it distribution. Kept the complexity invisible.

Post—Platform is not a future state.

It's a condition.

It begins the moment you no longer rely on platforms to define what your work is worth — or who it belongs to.
